Since more than 20 years now, the ‘Parcours des Mondes‘ fair gathers the finest european galleries specialized in art from Africa, Oceania, Americas and Asia, in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area in Paris.
Among the fifty and some galleries present, various exhibitions were organized from September 5th to 10th, and notably:
‘Unû. Prestigious African Weapons‘ organized with the help of Bruno Claessens, which presented Jacques Billen’s – known for its egyptian archeology works – collection of knives, swords, axes and other war instruments from Western and Equatorial Africa,
‘Shared Passion, a collection of the 21st century‘, curated by Didier Claes, that showed the collection of Michel Vandenkerckhove and his wife, who have gathered a fine selection of African artworks, including a set of rare Kota reliquary figures.
Let’s wander in the rues Jacques Callot, de Seine and Visconti after a drink at La Palette, for a few highlights.
