Don’t call them ‘Aztecs’ anymore but ‘Mexicas’! The Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac is the first institution to organize an exhibition labelled after the original name of this civilization, which features in texts and codexes from the period and has been used in Mexico for a few decades. The exhibition “Mexica. Offerings and gods at the Templo Mayor” presents until October 6th 2024 a large selection of objects and artworks, which most of them have never been shown out of Mexico. The visit starts with the origins of this mesoamerica culture who founded the legendary city of Tenochtitlan, then invites to discover their gods and their rituals, including offerings and sacrifices.
